Make it a year of creativity & design. My first knitting event of 2011 will be the 1st Annual Vogue Knitters event. I can't wait it should be a total blast. Like every other year I will be starting 2011 with several UFO's all over the place, even though my Meet Up group has a great idea. On the last meeting of this year we are going to "frog" our UFO's that we know we will never finish. What a great idea, one needs a fellow knitter sitting beside you when you start pulling that first stitch. In addition to "frogging" I should also be "Giving" away yarn, magazines & books. I can't believe how many duplicate books I have.
I have a confession to make. I have soooooo much yarn, books & accessories in my living room, dining room & guest room, I am ashamed to invite friends & family to visit. Last year Eric & I downsized from a house to an apartment. He says that he downsized, I just put everything in different containers and brought it with me. He might be right. Anyway, it has come to a point where the clutter is blocking my creativity. I have to manage the clutter, give away the yarn that I will never use and create a design nook so I can get the needles klicking again. Because like most knitters, I have at least three other crafts that I indulge, jewelry making, cross stitch and a dab of sewing.
So I have the annual knitter's resolution, which is not to make a major yarn purchase in 2011. If I buy yarn, it will be to complete the requirements for a project that I already have in queu. But fellow bloggers, the reality is, I usually buy a minimum of 1800 yards of yarn because I love to do cables. So it is doubtful that I can use that excuse. But having the addiction to buying yarn as I do, I don't think I can just stop "Cold Turkey." AND, I totally plan to go to Sheep & Wool, who can resist the colors at the Brooks booth. But Maybe I will purchase more of the yarn that I have to complete a project design. (hee hee hee)
